Daniel Marchena specializes in complex national and international litigation and in recent years has participated in some of the most relevant litigation and arbitration processes in the country. From his area of expertise, Daniel has advised important national and international clients from different sectors, and defended their interests in matters of contractual and extra-contractual liability, bankruptcy, business sale, industrial property, corporate conflicts, commercial operations and banking products, Energy, Financial Criminal Law and corporate compliance, among others.
Daniel holds a law degree and a postgraduate degree in European Community Law from the Complutense University of Madrid and the Universidad San Pablo C.E.U. and has 18 years of professional experience. After starting as a lawyer in Germany, Daniel returned to Spain to join Deloitte Abogados and later on to Uría Menéndez, a firm in which he has developed the bulk of his professional career and for which he was Principal Associate in the Area of Procedural Law and Arbitration, before founding EA Abogacía Europea, where he has been a partner in the procedural area until joining Vaciero.
Daniel is a member of the Madrid Bar Association, and is a member of other professional organizations such as the Spanish Arbitration Club, the International Bar Association (Dispute Resolution Section), the American Bar Association (Litigation Section), or the American Arbitration Association.
In addition, he regularly participates as a speaker in seminars and conferences related to his areas of expertise at universities and business schools, and combines his professional work with teaching at several universities such as the Carlos III University, where he is an Associate Professor or the Complutense University, both in Madrid. Every year he trains the team of the Carlos III University for the International Arbitration and Commercial Law Competition “MOOT Madrid”, and collaborates regularly in this contest.
