The Family Business Area is the result of the experience accumulated by a multidisciplinary team, over more than twenty years. We have a team composed of lawyers, economists, mediators and experts in family therapy, who add their knowledge for the best service to business families. The objective of our work focuses on:

  2. Consultancy processes for family businesses that have a vocation for continuity.
  3. Development and implementation of tools that contribute to guarantee continuity.

Training and Awareness

    • Conferences: in them, the main concepts that shape the reality of Family Business and Business Families are developed.

    • Workshops: work tables, in which the main actors of family businesses contribute their vision about the different problems that affect this type of organizations.

    • Role playing: staging, on the part of those attending the program, of those recurrent situations that occur in family businesses, through the representation of various roles and functions.

    • Case method: discussion with the assistants, of real cases exposed by the speakers.

Legal implementation

Our continued legal and family counseling includes the legal implementation of the agreements approved by our clients when the Spanish legal system is applicable.

In the same way, when a foreign or plurinational legislation is applicable to the specific case, we coordinate the advice to guarantee that the agreements approved by each client have a faithful reflection in the legal system that is competent. It has the following areas:

    • Social Statutes: They reflect the principles of the protocol that affect the functioning of society. These are:

Family business consulting

    • Family Strategic Plan: This program allows a diagnosis of family-company interaction and its possible consequences in the medium term, as well as enhancing continuity, defining possible scenarios and the most appropriate calendar to implement the decisions adopted.

    • Succession Plan: Succession is traditionally the Achilles heel of family businesses. This service allows, with the intervention of the whole family, to design a Plan that makes possible the generational change by defining the profile and competences of the successor and its fit in the organization and in the governing bodies.

    • Revision and renewal Pacts Family: The validity of the family agreements should be subject to periodic updating over time, in order to review the adequacy of the agreed standards to the business, strategic and family reality of each moment.

    • Family Protocol: Based on a previous analysis of each case and with the participation of those members that the family considers appropriate, the process is aimed at obtaining an agreement that contemplates the code of conduct agreed upon by the family, in the areas of Government, Company and Property.

    • Corporate Governance: The development of effective governance structures is the best guarantee for the transmission of the corporate legacy and the promotion of transparency. This process is aimed at designing the governing and management bodies best suited to the needs of each company-family, also drafting the respective regulations approved by the business families.
    • Specific Audit of the Business Family: Diagnosis of the situation in which are the main indicators that can compromise the continuity as a family business (family-business relationships, functioning of the governing bodies, adaptation of the existing leadership model, Administration and Property ) from which recommendations of best practices are formulated.

    • Mentoring and Coaching: As a training and accompaniment process. This advice seeks to enhance the personal capabilities of the members of the business family in the organization, through the formation of responsible successors, the empowerment of leaders and entrepreneurs and the transmission of the value of continuous improvement.

    • Family Cohesion: Family harmony is a key element in the continuity of family businesses. This program is aimed at strengthening common bonds and the desire to work together, encourage open and constructive communication among family members and, where appropriate, train the latter in the development of conflict resolution-management skills.
