Javier has a Degree in Law by the University of Valladolid, Master in Finances by the European Federation of Financial Analysts, and has been awarded the Certified European Financial Analyst (CEFA).
He started his professional career as a lawyer in the departments of Civil, Commercial and Procedural Law at Cuatrecasas Barcelona and Gerona offices in 1993. In 2000 he joined KPMG lawyers, where he was promoted to director of the legal area and remained in the position for 6 years. In 2012 he was appointed General Counsel of Gamesa for South America where he developed his professional career, mainly in Mexico and Brazil.
With more than 20 years of experience, he has expertise in Company and Business Law (commercial, civil, procedural, mergers and acquisitions, company restructuring, national and international contracts, energy). He has given advice to companies from different sectors in national and international transactions and in business strategy-related issues.
He is a regular speaker at dissemination seminars, lecturers and conferences of different professional and business forums. Besides, he used to taught at universities, such as the University of Gerona, where he gave lectures on Civil Law, at the Instituto de Empresa as a teacher of the Master in Legal Advice, at Madrid ISDE-IEB as a teacher of the Master in International Law and at the University of Barcelona as a teacher of Legal Practice in collaboration with the Bar Association.
